Jon Jones was born on July 19, 1987 in Rochester, New York. His father was a pastor at a Pentecostal church in Endicott, New York, while his mother was a nurse. They were 4 siblings, but her older sister Carmen died of cancer at the age of 18. His training in MMA began when Jones learned that his high school sweetheart Jessie was pregnant with their daughter, Leah. Despite not having received an official application or dramatic training, within weeks he won his first MMA fight against Brad Bernard by TKO on April 12, 2008. Then the UFC took it. He made his decision to win his first fight for Andre Gusmao at UFC 87. Jon has progressed in MMA, making his debut in the 2008 fight for the win against Brad Bernard. Likewise, he amassed an undefeated 6-0 record before signing with the UFC. After defeating Mauricio Rua in 2011 at the UFC, he went on to become the UFC’s youngest champion.
