Shaun Clarida Biography and Life
Shaun Clarida is from New Jersey, USA. In his childhood, he was interested in sports such as basketball, wrestling, baseball and gymnastics. Clarida was smaller in stature compared to her classmates, especially during her later school years when teenagers often have growth spurts – reaching her current height of 5 feet 2 inches or 157.48 cm and weighing just 44 pounds. This was especially difficult for a sports lover like Shaun, but the world isn’t always so kind to the smaller ones, and as a result he has been belittled and bullied. However, he certainly did not let all the negative comments and others’ perceptions of him deter him from continuing to play sports. But during this time, he would be doing weight training to get stronger for wrestling in his third year. But he has stated several times that building muscle is never easy. Little did young Shaun, however, know that he had what it took to be an extremely elite bodybuilder. He eventually crossed paths with a bodybuilder at a local gym who helped him learn the muscle building process, and it’s safe to say that at this point in his life, he’s found his love and passion. So she gathered a ton of muscle and decided she wanted to try her luck to compete on stage (a good decision for her part). Clarida has gathered over 70 pounds of muscle since high school and she looks absolutely incredible! Shaun Clarida earned the nickname “Giant Killer” and it couldn’t be more appropriate. He finished third in the 212 division at the 2019 Olympia, right behind Derek Lunsford (second place) and Kamal Elgargni (2019 champion) respectively. Many thought he deserved to be ahead of Lunsford but that doesn’t matter, he dominated the 2020 Olympia and beat them both! It’s not surprising that many people aren’t sure they have a chance given their height and needing more muscle mass to compete with taller and larger guys. But his determination and work ethic is what sets him apart, beyond what most people (including elite athletes) can do. He said many people told him to give up and he would never make it. Well, those people were just wrong! Clarida has competed in various shows for over 15 years. He won his Pro Card at the National Bodybuilding Championships in the bantamweight division in 2012 and has been improving ever since. His victory at the 2020 Olympia was also not surprising as it was only a matter of time. muscles, lines, His flow and conditioning were on point in 2019 and his win the following year was well deserved. And yet, Clarida still sees herself as weak and doesn’t think for a moment that she doesn’t have to maintain that mentality even if she’s the current champion. 2022 1st place in the Olympia 212 category.
