Khabib Nurmagomedov is a retired Russian UFC fighter born in 1988. He is also the first Russian and Muslim champion of the UFC. Khabib Nurmagomedov made his first professional MMA match in September 2008 and got a quick start in his career with four wins in one month. In the Atrium Cup tournament held for the first time in Moscow on October 11, 2008, he defeated all three opponents and became the champion. He remained undefeated by winning all 12 matches in the next three years. Only 1 of these 12 competitions went to the jury voting. His 16-game undefeated career in Russia and Ukraine opened the doors of the UFC to him. He entered the UFC very quickly and continued on his way at 4/4. After the Birr game, UFC president Dana White said: “We’re going to do great things with this kid, it seems.” he said. In December 2013, Nurmagomedov challenged Gilbert Melendez on social media.
